The Key To Creating Space

It’s spring and with this time of year comes a desire to create space.  Perhaps it’s going through your closet and deciding what to donate.  Or, dare I suggest......the garage?

But have you also felt the pull to create space within?  Or clean things up energetically?

Going through the old - whether it’s material items or our memories - can feel so overwhelming, can’t it?  Thoughts of:

“I’ve wasted so much money”

“I’ve wasted so much time”

“How could I have thought that was a good idea”

“I can’t believe I made that choice”

often fill our minds.

In a way, it can feel like re-living the past.  And we can easily be pulled into old experiences that we would rather not relive, or that we’ve placed on the shelf in our mind and locked the door, pretending it’s not there and fooling ourselves by thinking - Ok, I’ve dealt with that!

It’s enough to make us turn away and leave good enough alone.

Perhaps you’ve resolved that this is as good as it gets - a kind of silent recognition of what is behind those doors, and as long as it stays where I’ve locked it away and doesn’t come out to play and mess up my life, I’m good with it.

But alas, it simply doesn’t work that way for long!  No matter how many doors we’ve locked, or how many times we put the old out of our minds, the energy is still present and oftentimes acts like a strap, binding us to what once was - by unconsciously dictating reactions, steering our choices.

It keeps our energy tied up when it could be available for us to use in the present to create, love more fully, serve others in the way we are meant to - until we actually clean house.

And yes, this is our choice to pursue - and the journey is not for the faint of heart.

So, how do we start this journey?  And why bother?

There are many different tools we can tap into, and I think it comes down to what you personally feel a connection with, inside your heart.  For some, it’s breathwork.  For others it’s a rage workshop.  Meditation certainly is a gateway.  There are so many tools these days.

For me, connecting with Nature and Sound have been the most powerful practices to quiet my mind, connect with my heart, allow the Divine intelligence to bring to surface the next step in my healing, and then help me move through it. Intentional connection with the trees, plants, water, stones around me cracked me open, and allowed me to feel my true connection with the Divine in a way I hadn't experienced before.  And Sound acts as a bridge to that space within, our heart intelligence (where I believe is the Divine within resides), and a guide through the dark.

But - at the end of the day, and no matter the approach, we cannot side step actually feeling the feelings until they are done feeling. What I have found to be true, is that when we feel the feelings of our pain, in a true and earnest and complete way, and we surrender them to the Divine - there is an energetic release and reintegration.

It’s not as if XYZ didn’t happen, but your perspective shifts, deepens, and it no longer has the same control over your experience. Patterns shift.  Old ways of thinking and reacting are not for you.

And please know - Healing comes in spirals - meaning sometimes we revisit the same pain multiple times before we can truly release it.  But even though it’s the same pain, we are actually at a different point and perspective in the pain each time it comes back up - when finally and suddenly, things shift.

You expand.

There is more space now in your field to hold both what happened, and grace.

To hold what happened, and forgiveness.

You expand to be able to hold the duality of what this life brings.

Through feeling you heal

Through healing you expand

Through expansion you create space

And the space that you create?

That my friend, is your canvas

Let’s return to the stillness.

To Nature.

To Sound.

To the simple.

And have the courage to feel.

Start there, and trust where you are lead.

After some time, you will know what to paint.

This is why it's worth the bother.

~In coherence,

Ranee
